Your adventure begins with an interesting presentation detailing the biology and ecology killer whale, you will also learn about the other marine life you may encounter. The 1.5 hour journey takes you to the only location in Australia where you can reliably encounter killer whales in the wild. This expedition is fully catered, with morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea provided, and unlimited hot and cold beverages are available.
Some of the exciting creatures you’ll see include pods of long-finned pilot whales, sperm whales, maybe even a rare beaked whale or a blue whale. You can also admire the acrobatics of large pods of bottlenose, striped, and common dolphins, and encounter shark species that include great whites, whale sharks, and the beautiful oceanic blue, a species never seen from shore.
Enormous oceanic sunfish surface and the remains of giant squid sometimes float on the surface, a predator of the deep reduced to scraps, squabbled over by an astonishing array of pelagic seabirds including albatross, shearwater and petrel species.Â
