Travel by The Ghan to Alice Springs; sit back, relax and enjoy the comfort of the train as the outback scenery passes you by. ​​
See the mystical 36 domes of Kata Tjuta (the Olgas), and explore Walpa Gorge and the unusual conglomerate rock formations. The walking trail through Walpa Gorge follows the natural creek between two of the tallest domes of Kata Tjuṯa. Late afternoon you’ll travel to the Uluṟu sunset viewing area. Witness the striking colour changes of Uluṟu at sunset while enjoying nibbles and complimentary wine.
Experience the sacred beauty and culture of Uluru led by a member of the local Anangu people. Behold the majesty of Uluru, as the sun rises to reveal the desert’s red heart.

Day 1
Adelaide
09:00 AM
On arrival in Adelaide make your own way to Adelaide Parklands Terminal to board The Ghan for your journey to Alice Springs.
The Ghan
Sit back, relax and enjoy the comfort of the train as the outback scenery passes you by. Overnight train to Alice Springs.
Day 2
Alice Springs
When you arrive at Alice Springs Railway Station you will be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure for you to explore or relax.
Day 3
Optional - Camel Ride
We visit a camel farm where there is time for you to purchase a short camel ride.
Mount Conner
We stop to view Mount Conner (Atila), often mistaken for Uluru.
Ayers Rock Resort
We then arrive at Ayers Rock Resort.
Uluru (Ayers Rock)
This afternoon join your guide for a drive around the base of Uluru then travel to the Mutitjulu Waterhole. Here view Aboriginal rock art and learn about the area as your Driver Guide points out native flora and fauna and explains the history of Uluru.

Day 4
Uluru (Ayers Rock)
Today, we rise early to watch the first rays of the sun set the Red Centre and Uluru alight.
Walpa Gorge Walk
We continue to the base of Walpa Gorge to explore the gorge and the unusual conglomerate rock formations. The walking trail through Walpa Gorge follows the natural creek between two of the tallest domes of Kata Tjuta
Kata Tjuta (the Olgas)
​Kata Tjuta, are a group of large domed rock formations or bornhardts located about 365 km southwest
Kings Canyon
In the early afternoon travel through spectacular desert scenery on your way to Kings Canyon Resort. Pass through Curtin Springs Cattle Station before viewing Atila (Mt. Conner) from the coach. After turning off the Lasseter Highway and on to the Luritja Road your Driver Guide will provide informative commentary about the history of the surrounding cattle area.
Day 5
Kings Canyon
Make the rocky climb to the rim of the canyon, or alternatively, explore the boulder strewn canyon creek bed.
Alice Springs
Travel through the desert to Alice Springs.
Day 6
Alice Springs

Your short break concludes this morning in Alice Springs. You'll be transferred to Alice Springs Airport for your onward flight (flights anytime).
