Tour Overview

On this 2 day tour from Darwin, pass through major river systems and wetland regions as you travel into Kakadu National Park. Located 257 kilometres east of Darwin, the national park covers 20,000 square kilometres of landscape varying from rocky escarpment that is home to historic Aboriginal rock art dating back thousands of years, to the floodplains that are abundant with wildlife.

Enjoy a guided walk through Nourlangie to see the rock art galleries, and a tour of the Yellow Water Billabong to search for saltwater Crocodiles and colourful bird life.

View informative displays depicting the traditions of the Aboriginal people in Kakadu. Explore the World Heritage Area of Ubirr and climb through ancient Aboriginal rock art galleries to the lookout to enjoy the spectacular views of the surrounding wetlands.

An Aboriginal guide will provide an insight into their culture, including local mythology, East Alligator River’s abundant food chain, as well as bush survival skills.

Take the opportunity for a scenic flight over Kakadu.

Experiencing Kakadu from the air gives you a true sense of the vastness of this amazing landscape.

This fabulous scenic flight hugs the Mt. Brockman escarpment, crosses Deaf Adder Gorge and then takes in the beautiful Double Falls, a spectacular introduction to the waterfalls of the Kakadu. The Arnhem Plateau then drops away revealing the breathtaking Jim Jim Falls. Fly on to Twin Falls, with its two distinctive flows and narrow gorge entrance. Do not miss this, especially between the wet months of December to July! (If weather conditions preclude access to the East Alligator region, alternative touring will be arranged on Day 2.)
