1 Day Perentie Chillagoe Tour from Cairns

​Enjoy an interesting and historic experience on your 1 day Chillagoe Tour. Visit the Hann Range Lookout, a magnificent view allowing you to take a panorama of the picturesque Cairns Coastal Plains. 

Travel to Granite Gorge where you can hand feed the cute Mareeba Rock Wallabies. These cute little wallabies are completely wild and often put on amusing displays as they compete for your attention – it won’t be long before you will start telling them to behave. Enjoy morning tea at Mareeba, before the 2 hour journey to the historic mining town of Chillagoe, visiting points of interest along the way. 

The historic mining town of Chillagoe holds many surprises. Visit Tommy Prior with his amazing collection of old Fords, but don’t worry ladies, it’s not as blokey as it sounds. 

Tommy is a great Outback character and will keep you amused with his stories. 

Chillagoe marble is known throughout Australia and most structures in Cairns built after 1982 have marble paving and it all comes from Chillagoe. Lunch is at the historic Chillagoe Post Office Hotel before inspecting one of Chillagoe’s greatest assets – it’s fabulous Limestone caves. 

Enjoy a private tour of the caves (or a National Park cave tour if the group chooses) before heading back across the Cairns Highlands arriving in Cairns around 6pm.
